Our instant quote calculator automatically displays each couriers’ price for sending your items. The price is usually set by calculating the higher of either the cubic weight (volume) or the actual weight of the packaged item/s.

You can calculate the cubic weight (volume) yourself by following this simple formula;

Depth (meters) x Length (meters) x Height (meters) x 250.

Eg: A carton that was 40cm deep, 40cm long and 120cms high would be calculated by:

0.4 x 0.4 x 1.2 x 250 =48kgs.

  3. Enter sender and recipient details and any additional information required
  4. Safely pay online with our secure payment portal

  6. Your items will be collected by your nominated courier on your nominated collection day.

You are able to book as the receiver although unless you’re exceptionally organised we discourage this. It is very important to ensure all packaged item details are entered accurately as collected items that are above the weight or dimensions entered when booking (even by a small amount) will more than likely incur additional fees for reweighing and remeasuring your item/s. If this occurs the courier will calculate a new quote and you will be billed for the difference.

It is also important that the sender packages the items in accordance with Freight Save’s Packing Guidelines and are aware of the process for printing labels, attaching them & collection by the courier.

If you would like to book as the receiver, please remember it is always your responsibility to ensure all items are measured and packaged correctly. It is also the sender’s responsibility for payment of any additional fees and charges incurred. See Freight Save’s full Terms & Conditions available under the Support menu.

While Freight Save partners with Australia’s leading courier companies to provide the broadest and most affordable service possible, there are some areas that are not included in regular delivery schedules. Please contact us prior to booking to make sure your items can be shipped to their required destination.

Unfortunately, Freight Save is unable to deliver to PO Boxes so it is important you nominate a delivery address where there is somebody available to receive the item/s.

Upon booking, next available pickup time slots are allocated unless a specific date is booked. Deliveries are able to be booked in advance.

If you need your item/s picked up by a specific time, please contact Freight Save directly. Additional charges apply.

 

Metropolitan: Most couriers have a midday cut off time for collections on the same day in metro areas.

Regional areas: Most couriers have a midday cut off time for collections on the next day.

Bookings for all services are able to be made in advance.

Consignment notes are also known as shipping labels and are used by courier services to display the important information required to get your items from A to B safely and without delay.

An individual label is required for each individual package/item you are sending.

After booking, labels and important instructions will be emailed directly to you and it is your responsibility as the sender to print and securely attach labels to each of your items. Take a look at our Packing Guidelines under the Support menu for more information on labels.

Unfortunately not. Packages without labels may be charged a futile pick up fee or a manual consignment note fee. Labels are there to ensure drivers and other freight handlers know important details about transporting your item/s and also assist to have them delivered without being lost or delayed in transit.

Please visit Freight Save’s Packing Guidelines under the Support menu for your options if you do not have access to a printer.

It is possible to make changes after you have booked your service, though bear in mind any changes will incur an administration fee.

If you need to cancel your service, you are able to do this providing the items have not yet been collected or scheduled with a driver for collection. Cancellation in this circumstance will be refunded less any cancellation fee incurred from the courier as well as Freight Save’s administration fee.

Estimated transit times for each courier are displayed on the instant quote calculator. However these dates should be used as a guide only and can not be guaranteed.

At certain times, transportation of your items can be delayed. In the event you require your items to be collected or delivered on a specific day or by a specific time please contact us prior to booking and we will gladly provide you with the most up to date ETA for your items.

To make sending your item/s as easy as possible, we suggest packaging your item first, following the advice in the Packing Guidelines available under the Support menu.

Items that are not packaged or are packaged incorrectly will not be collected. For the safety of drivers, freight handlers as well as your item/s it is important that you follow the advice in our Packing Guidelines available under the support menu.

No, dangerous goods will not be accepted and are unable to b sent through Freight Save without prior authorisation in writing. There are heavy penalties in place for the unauthorised sending of dangerous goods so please don’t do it.

Yes, Freight Save offers a national food transportation service.

However, perishable items are not suitable to be sent via the website’s automated booking process so if you are shipping perishable items, please contact the helpful team at Freight Save directly on 1300 696 001 for immediate quotes and bookings.

Yes, Freight Save offers same day deliveries in each state. Please contact us for the cut off times for services available near you.

Drivers collecting and delivering items are unable to call ahead so it is important that your items are available for collection on your nominated day/time and that there is someone available at the delivery address to accept the delivery.

If no one will be at the premises when the driver arrives to collect your item/s you are able to leave your items ready for collection by the front door. In most cases you can choose this option when booking.

If you are planning to leave your items unattended, please remember that items left unattended for collection or delivery void your warranty cover for the booking and all items left for collection must have the shipping label/s securely attached or a futile collection fee will be incurred.

If there is no one home when the courier arrives to collect your item/s and they are not left for unattended collection, you will be charged a futile collection fee and will need to rebook your service.

No. In most cases you can select the option to leave item/s at the point of collection and for the courier to leave the item/s at the delivery location when booking however, this option will void your warranty cover for the booking.

Unless you have completed an authority to leave declaration when booking, the courier will not leave your items at the delivery location. Your items will be rescheduled for delivery on the following day and this may incur a redelivery fee as well as Freight Save’s administration fee.

There are 3 ways in which you can track your parcel;

  • via the link emailed to you confirming your booking
  • via the tracking page on Freight Save’s website
  • by entering the tracking number/booking ID directly onto the courier’s website.

Your tracking number can be found on the confirmation email sent to you after booking as well as on the shipping label.

Bookings made through the website are charged to a credit card at the time of booking.

Bookings made through a Freight Save account are invoiced and payment can be made via EFT or credit card.

Freight Save is just as concerned about your privacy as you are and we take your security seriously.

We partner with Stripe to manage our online payment system. Your payment details are sent directly to Stripe who offer a PCI Service Provider Level 1 – the most stringent level of certification available in the online payments industry.

Cancellations made prior to the scheduling of a driver to collect your items are eligible for refund, less Freight Save’s administration fee.

Cancelled services after a courier driver has been scheduled to collect your items will incur a cancellation fee as well as Freight Save’s administration fee.

Unfortunately there are additional fees and charges that may apply.

However these can be easily avoided by ensuring the item/s dimensions and weight/s are entered accurately on booking, ensuring that no dangerous goods are sent and that there is someone available to meet the courier at both the collection and delivery locations.

Additional fees and charges can be easily avoided. Please refer to Freight Save’s full Terms and Conditions and Packing Guidelines available under the Support menu to see if you are likely to incur any additional fees and charges after you’ve made a booking.

Any additional fees billed to Freight Save are automatically passed on to the sender and payment is charged to the same credit card used for the booking. Any additional fees incurred will also incur Freight Save’s administration fee.

Freight Save does not offer insurance for goods sent through our services.

Senders may wish to seek their own insurance cover and are encouraged to do so.

If your item is damaged on delivery you must write ‘damaged’ on the POD when signing for your item. It is important to contact us within 24 hours to report any damages to the courier company and commence the warranty claims process.
